Terms of Service
Last updated: May 5, 2026
By using PDFCompressor.site (“the Service”), you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.
What the Service does
PDFCompressor.site provides a browser-native PDF compression tool powered by Ghostscript WebAssembly. All compression is performed locally in your browser. No files are uploaded to our servers.
Acceptable use
You agree to use the Service only for lawful purposes. You must not:
- Use the Service to process files you do not have the right to modify
- Attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, or tamper with the Service
- Use automated scripts to abuse the waitlist or any API endpoint
- Misrepresent your identity when submitting your email to the waitlist
Service availability and limitations
The Service is provided “as is” and “as available”. We make no guarantees about uptime, accuracy of compression results, or suitability for any particular purpose. The current maximum file size is 100 MB per file.
We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Service at any time without notice.
No warranty
To the fullest extent permitted by law, PDFCompressor.site disclaims all warranties, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We are not responsible for any loss or corruption of files resulting from use of the Service.
Always keep a copy of your original file before compressing. While the tool operates locally and cannot cause server-side data loss, browser crashes or unexpected behaviour may affect the output.
Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, PDFCompressor.site shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including loss of data or profits, arising from your use of or inability to use the Service.
Open-source software
The compression engine used by this Service is Ghostscript, which is licensed under the GNU Affero General Public License v3.0 (AGPL-3.0). Commercial use of Ghostscript in a monetised product requires a separate commercial licence from Artifex Software.
Intellectual property
The PDFCompressor.site name, logo, and site design are our property. Ghostscript and its trademarks belong to Artifex Software, Inc. Nothing in these terms grants you any rights to our intellectual property beyond the right to use the Service as described.
Privacy
Your use of the Service is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these terms by reference.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which PDFCompressor.site operates, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms at any time. The updated date at the top of this page will reflect any changes. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
